This summer, NorthStar is excited to bring back one of our most popular annual family programs — the Ottawa Summer Fun Trip!

Families will experience Canada’s famous OWL Rafting adventure, enjoying the excitement and fun of white water rafting on the Ottawa River.

During our stay in Ottawa, families will enjoy accommodations at the iconic Fairmont Château Laurier, a historic castle-style hotel located in the heart of downtown Ottawa, next to Parliament Hill. This landmark hotel has welcomed members of the British Royal Family and many world leaders, including Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III.

We will also host a large-scale Family Water Carnival in Ottawa, with more than 100 special needs families from Toronto and Ottawa expected to participate. Activities will include SUP paddleboarding, canoeing, water games, beach and lawn activities, music interaction, team challenges, picnic sharing, and free water play. Children will have the chance to make friends and enjoy the water, while parents can relax and connect in a joyful summer setting.

During the trip, families may also explore some of Ottawa’s most popular attractions, including Parliament Hill, Rideau Falls, and local museums. Another optional highlight is a visit to Parc Omega, a well-known wildlife park in Quebec. Covering 2,200 acres, the park allows visitors to drive through forests and meadows while observing wildlife such as elk, white-tailed deer, bison, wolves, and black bears up close.

This trip is more than just a getaway — it is a joyful gathering of the NorthStar family. Together, we will create meaningful summer memories and give children the opportunity to grow through nature, friendship, and shared experiences.
