NorthStar × YMCA Pine Crest · Thanksgiving Canoe Foliage Camp · October 11-13, 2025

Join us this Thanksgiving for an unforgettable Canoe Foliage Camp at YMCA Pine Crest in Muskoka, just 1.5 hours from Toronto. Families will enjoy canoeing, hiking, stargazing, and a variety of outdoor adventures surrounded by stunning fall colors. This 3-day, 2-night camp is the perfect way to celebrate autumn together.

Camp Introduction

Located in the Muskoka Lake District, about 1.5 hours from Toronto, YMCA Pine Crest spans 650 acres with hills, lakes, rivers, valleys, forests, and meadows—perfect for outdoor activities. Founded in 1910, the camp has a long history, first-class facilities, and can host over 200 participants at the same time.

October 11–13, 2025 · Three days, two nights


Program Highlights

This is a family camp. Seniors over 70 years old are welcome if in good health.
Campers will be divided into activity groups. Activities include:

  • Canoeing & kayaking

  • High ropes & climbing

  • Archery

  • Wilderness survival skills

  • Stargazing at night

  • Campfire party

  • Forest exploration

The October program centers on an Island Foliage Tour combining hiking and a lake canoe trip, with a variety of other exciting outdoor activities.


Meals

All meals are included, with 2–3 snacks daily and 24-hour hot drinks.
Meals are prepared by a professional kitchen team and are nutritious and well-balanced, with salad and fruit available at every meal.
Note: No food containing nuts may be brought in.


Accommodation

Campers stay in three forest cabins.

  • Each cabin has bathrooms with flush toilets and showers.

  • 6 bedrooms per cabin, each with 4 bunk beds and mattresses.

  • Each family is assigned one room.

  • If only a mother and child attend, they may be paired to share a room with another mom-and-child pair.


What to Bring

Participants must bring their own bedding (sheets, blankets, or sleeping bags), spare clothing, and personal items.


Safety

  • Camp staff inspect facilities and equipment daily.

  • A registered nurse is on site.

  • Each cabin is equipped with an alarm system.
