
Chong Cheng
Chong Cheng received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the City University of New York and conducted postdoctoral research at Washington University in St. Louis. He is currently a tenured full professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at University at Buffalo, the State University of New York. He has published nearly 100 scientific papers.
He also has a keen interest in the humanities. He translated a classic biography of Henry Dunant, founder of the Red Cross, from English into Chinese; the translation was published in early 2023.
As a father of a child with autism, he is actively participated in social services and passionately supports the special needs community and vulnerable groups. He serves as the Board Chair of Bridges from Borders, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the physical and mental well-being of immigrant communities in Western New York. He has also published articles on social issues in public media.
